 In the late 1960’s, Seth Harter, then a crane salesman for North Jersey Equipment Company, decided to look into going into business for himself. His vision was to find the best products and deliver the best service possible to the NJ construction industry. His initial research pointed him in one direction, John Deere, and in January 1967, Harter Equipment opened their doors for business.
Since that date over 41 years ago, Harter Equipment has grown from a 2,000 square foot facility with 3 employees, to it’s current 20,000 square foot facility with over 30 employees. Along the journey, Harter expanded their product offerings and customer base, however, Seth’s core vision to provide the best products and services to his customers has never strayed.
In 1985, Seth’s daughter, Susan (Sue), joined Harter Equipment. She, like Seth, has worn many hats in her tenure, but today, runs the operations of the dealership with a team of hand picked, dedicated employees.....and, of course, the knowledge that Seth is always available for a “consult” when needed. | |
